A dentist should eliminate the disease first and then eliminate existingthe lesions as much as possible through remineralization procedure. When allelse fails, the surgical repair of the lesions should be the last resort and carriedout with minimal intervention into the crown of the tooth. Only minimal intervention is required to stabilize and heal an initialcarious lesion; this approach will lead to an excellent retention of natural toothstructure, maintaining both strength and esthetic.All efforts should be made to preserve a maximum amount of soundtooth structure.
